Imagine a scene unfolding, perhaps something you hear whispered about, or maybe it just pops into your head: a person, someone we might casually call a "guy," somehow ends up making an unexpected, rather sudden entry into a well-known fast-food establishment. It's a striking image, isn't it? Very much so. This kind of event, while certainly out of the ordinary, prompts us to think a little about the words we use to describe such situations, and, in particular, the simple, everyday term "guy."
